Au Pair Educational Weekend Program
Welcome to our New Program
The State University of New York at Buffalo, Millard Fillmore College, Division of Professional and Continuing Studies is pleased to offer a weekend course dedicated to the education, training and socialization of Au Pairs in America. The weekend will include coursework in Early Childhood Development, American Culture, Business, Architecture, Government, Communication and Personal Growth.
In addition the program will provide an opportunity to develop new friendships and learn more about the region. During an assignment in America, an Au Pair is required to complete the equivalent of six credit hours of course work. To ensure that each participant earns the required credit hours, we offer four continuing education units for each weekend session. Each student will be required to attend all workshops and activities included on the training itinerary to ensure that all credit hour requirements are met.
The Au Pair weekend will be offered 6 times a year by Millard Fillmore College. The Au Pair is responsible for transportation to and from the program. It is a great way for Au Pairs to receive required credit hours and meet new people. Registration is ongoing; however, early registration is encouraged as the availability is limited to 50 participants per weekend session.
Each weekend session is different and may include but is not limited to:
Early Childhood Development, Children's Literature, Music and Art Activities for Children, Nutrition and Your Body, Psychology, Group Dynamics, ESL, Communications, Entrepreneurship, American Politics, Hospitality, American Culture, Architecture, American Art, Music and Drama, and American Sports Culture.
Which Au Pairs may attend?
All Au Pairs interested in meeting other Au Pairs on the path to earning their required credentials and experience American life firsthand.
What is the cost?
There are two (2) options you may select from to participate in the program. Rates available are:

Resident rate of $350 which is all inclusive.

Commuter rate of $280, which does not include accommodations or breakfast.
What does all inclusive mean?

(2) Night's accommodation

(7) Meals: 2 breakfast, 3 lunch and 2 dinner

All transportation to and from any activities or workshops on itinerary

All entrance fees for selected cultural tours listed on itinerary
Will I receive a certificate?
Upon completion of the weekend program you will receive a certificate from the State University of New York at Buffalo stating that you completed the Au Pair Educational Program earning 4 Continuing Education Units (CEU's).

Program ends Sunday, February 12, 2012

Check-in and Registration 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM, Friday
Program starts promptly at 12:00 PM, Friday
Check out no later than 10:30 AM, Sunday
Program concludes 3:00 PM, Sunday
