Examines the everyday ethical problems faced by medical staff and family members, particularly in terminal cases. Students become familiar with legal documents and issues-health-care proxies, "do not resuscitate" orders, living wills, guardianships, and powers of attorney-related to the incompetent or unconscious hospitalized patient.
